Relative by marriage of Valens (therefore related to Petronius 3 and Domnica), described as ‘σκαιός τις ὢν καὶ ἀνάγωγος’ and noted for his tendency towards frank speech, with Saturninus 10 he judged the case of Timasius (c. a. 396/7) and favoured mercy but was overruled Zos. V 9.3-5.
